Benefits of joining the Newberry Jonesville Area Chamber of Commerce
ExposureAnnual Members Directory: Annual publication lists each member two different ways: alphabetically and categorically. These directories are distributed to many businesses and individuals throughout the Newberry/Jonesville Area.
Online Business Listing: You business information will be posted on our website as well as a link to your business.
On Line Business Ad: For an additional advertising fee, a logo on any page linking to your business can be included.
Chamber General Membership Lunch: We have Quarterly Chamber Luncheons and as a Chamber member, you are welcome and encouraged to come and give a presentation on your business.
Booths at Local Events: There are a lot of local events that the Chamber participates in throughout the year. We will periodically run a chamber booth at these events and as a member you can volunteer to work these booths. This is a great opportunity to be involved in the community while not only promoting the chamber but your business as well, at no charge.

Chamber General Membership Lunch: These meetings are held quarterly, and are an excellent opportunity to meet and network with other local businesses in the area.
To Make Business Contacts: You are likely to meet many people who have the potential to become customers or referral sources for your business.
Membership Committee (Chair: Josh Blackford)
This committee is to provide tangible benefits to the chamber membership, encourage participation, educate the membership as to the services and features available to them, and to expand and retain the membership base while communicating any issues the members have to the board.
Events and Banquet Committee (Chair: Andreana Graham)
This committee meets to review and develop ideas for Chamber sponsored and community events. They assist with volunteers at local networking events; for example the Afterhours events, Annual Banquet, procuring booths at local festivals and organizing the Volunteers of those booths as a chamber benefit. Current local festivals are: Newberry Main Street Unity Day, The Watermelon Festival, Newberry Main Street Fall Market Festival, and The Tioga Arts Festival.
Budget and Finance Committee (Chairs: Gil Levy)
This committee works with the Treasurer to develop near- and long-term financial plans and strategies for our chamber.
Paper Publicity and Public Relations (Chair: Joy Glanzer)
This committee maintains the paper advertising and promotion for chamber events. Organizing and promoting the directory, relocation packet, and monthly Newsletters. As well as assist with taking pictures at any local events the Chamber is involved with.
Online Publicity / E-mail (Chair: Megan Eckdahl)
This Committee handles our online branding, marketing and publicity as well as online public relations, insuring that the website is current, maintaining and updating Social Media profiles, and portraying the face of the Chamber online. Responsible for sending out weekly e-mails informing the chamber, and maintaining an accurate online database of our current membership.
Ambassador Committee (Chairs: Jeff Rizzo)
Ambassadors are volunteers who visibly represent their companies to our membership by serving as hosts and hostesses at the monthly luncheons. Getting members to volunteer for activities and welcome new members. They will also reach out to Chamber members to offer assistance as well as recognize long term members.
Scholarship Committee (Chair: Lacy Redd)
This committee organizes, runs, and promotes the Newberry/Jonesville Scholarship fund which provides money for continuing education of local students.
Office/Internship Program Committee (Chair: Megan Eckdahl)
This committee organizes, runs, and promotes our Office and lends assistance to other committees while volunteering their time in the Chamber office.
Seminar/Workshop Committee (Chair: Wendy Brant)
This committee organizes, runs, and promotes both workshops and seminars put on by the Chamber.
The Non-Profit Internship program assists students and non-profit organizations by matching their needs with each other creating a situation that works well for both the organization and the student. Begun by the Newberry/Jonesville Chamber of Commerce, it assists students attending high school and college achieve their education and life goals , while giving the appropriate non-profit company human resource assistance. We match the student and the non-profit, depending on needs and goals of both. This program assists city and non-profit programs while benefiting the student in their credits, and life goals with the assistance of school guidance counselors.
Internship requirements with the Newberry Jonesville Chamber of CommerceThe candidate needed for internship with the Newberry Jonesville Chamber of Commerce must be able to work at least 18 hours a week or somewhat close to that during business hours of 8 - 6 PM. The person needs to have reliable transportation to Newberry and surrounding area to work in the office on a regular basis.The candidate should be well spoken, have good business skills and etiquette, computer skills, including to be able to use Word, and Excel. The candidate should have e-mail access . The candidate should have basic office skills, and be great on the phone. They will need to call members, meet members, and also handle mail , and make informational packets. Good sales technique is a plus, and may lead to a commission or part time job position if the candidate is able to refer new members to our Chamber of Commerce.
Officers (Executive Committee) - This committee is comprised of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Past President.
The President - Oversees all committee Chairs, and also chairs the Nominating committee while being the public face of the Newberry Jonesville Chamber of Commerce.
The Vice President - Presides over the Annual Banquet Committee, which is an extension of the Events committee.
The Treasurer - Presides over the Finance Committee
The Secretary - Presides over the Historical Committee, which is to preserve the record keeping of the Chamber of Commerce.
